Instructions writing articles in Parseh Journal of Archaeological Studies
 

Since having an ORCID code as a unique identifier for all authors is one of the requirements for submitting articles to this journal, please visit https:/orcid.org/register before uploading articles.  Get your ORCID code; please be sure to enter the correct ORCID code for each author.


Rules and guidelines for the writing of articles in the Scientific Quarterly of Parseh Archaeological Studies:
 
1. Articles in various fields of archaeology, history of Iranian art and interdisciplinary studies are accepted.
2. The submitted article must be scholarly research and new and must not have been published in another journal or conference or submitted to another journal at the same time.
3. Scientific reports of field and laboratory activities must be written within the guidelines of the journal.
4. Collaborative research articles should be submitted with the title of the research project, the project number, and the name of the sponsoring institution.
5. If the article is derived from a master's or doctoral thesis, this must be stated; there are no restrictions on the printing of such articles, provided the subject matter is new.
6. For articles derived from master's or doctoral theses, the first author is the student and the second author is the supervisor (second author).
7. The journal does not publish translated articles.
8. The article must be in the author(s)' area of expertise.
9. The responsibility for the content presented in the article rests with the author(s) of the article.
10. Only one article from the authors at a time will be evaluated and reviewed in the journal; therefore, if one of the authors of the article has an accepted article in the journal, the new article will be considered.
11. Only one article from each author, individually or in collaboration with non-faculty members, will be included in the evaluation process.
12. If the article is taken from a project that has a financial sponsor, it is necessary to thank the sponsor.

How to write articles
🔹 Persian section
 
- Author Information:
This page should not be numbered and should include the full title of the article, the first and last name of the author(s), and their position and academic rank (including degree, address, contract number, and e-mail).

- Persian Abstract:
Maximum 300 words, mentioning the title of the article and keywords (3-5 words) should be set on a separate page. The Persian Abstract should be the only statement of the entire article, including the research propositions, the objectives and the necessity of the research, the research question and the hypothesis, the research method, the main findings and the conclusions.Introduction: including the research proposal, the goals and necessity of the research, the question and hypothesis (main and secondary) of the research, should be comprehensively arranged on one page.

- The text of the article:
It includes the theoretical foundations, the studies, the research results and the conclusion.

- Conclusion:
It should be logical and well-reasoned, summarizing the issues raised and answering the research questions and assumptions.

- Acknowledgements:
Thanks for the cooperation and guidance of those who contributed to the preparation of the article.

- Percentage contribution of authors:
Articles with more than one author should explain the percentage contribution of each author separately.

- Conflict of Interest:
In this section, the author must state the article's conflict of interest with the articles, the executive, and the sponsor, while adhering to publishing ethics.

- Endnote
PS: Necessary explanations of the terms and contents of the article should be included in the text at the end of the article in the order of their number.

- Bibliography (References):
Sorted alphabetically and by author's last name.

 


🔹 English short article (1500 words):
After the final acceptance of the article by the referee, the English short article will be received by the journal office in a separate file (WORD) containing the author's details and a complete translation of the article summary in the form of a short article of 1500 words, including an abstract (300 words) and containing the research propositions, objectives and necessity of the research, main question and hypothesis of the article, research method and main findings and conclusions, introduction (400 words), text of the article (400 words), conclusion (400 words) along with all captions of figures, tables, designs as well as all Persian sources used in the article in the bibliography section must be translated and sent in English.

The structure of the 1500-word English mini-article should be based on this:

🔹 The method of setting up the article
The text of the article should not exceed 20 pages, one page, per page 24 lines, Persian text with B- Mitra font size 13, including all information, such as photos, tables, and diagrams. English content (reference) should be in Times New Roman font size 12 and footnotes should be size 8, and it is emphasized that the Persian part should not exceed 7000 words.

Pictures, diagrams, designs and tables must be 300 dpi and in jpg format, and it is necessary to mention the source and determine its location. (It is emphasized that the total number of photos, tables and diagrams should not exceed 15).
- Title of the table. Top right along with its source (if the table is prepared by the author or authors, their year should be included. For example; (Source: Author, 2017).
Title, diagram, and designs. Credit should be given at the bottom right along with the source.


🔹 Referral method:

The referencing method of the general citation structure in the Parseh Archaeological Studies Quarterly follows the APA method.

 ●References in the text (Persian and English)
A. Reference to an author (author's last name, year of publication, page) Example: (Niknami, 2017: 27)
B. Reference to two authors (authors' last name, year of publication, page) Example: (Niknami & Mohammadifar, 2017: 17)
C. Reference to three or more authors (last name of authors and et al, year of publication, page) Example: (Niknami et al., 2017: 27)

Bibliography (Persian & English)

- Book

FormatLast name of author(s), first name of author, year of publication. The title of the book (in italics). The volume. Name of the translator or proofreader, place of publication, name of the publisher, published.

  • Example:
  • Coon, C. S., (1951). Cave exploration in Iran, 1949. Philadelphia: The University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania.


- Article
FormatAuthor's last name, first name, (year of publication). Title (in quotation marks). Journal title (in italics), place of publication, journal number or year, pages, DOI or DOR code.

Note: Including the DOI or DOR code for articles in this journal is mandatory. If these codes are not available, authors are required to provide the URL (i.e., hyperlink) to the article’s page in its original journal.
 

  • Example:

  • Burney, Ch., (1975). “Excavations at Haftavan Tepe 1973: Fourth Peliminary Report”. Iran,  XIII: 135-153 .(DOI or DOR).

- Note : write the DOI or DOR code.


- Theses, Dissertation and Reports:

Format: Last name of the author, name of the author, (year of publication). the title of theses, dissertations and reports (in quotation marks). Place of research. Name of the university or institution (unpublished).
 

  • Example:

Final publication of the article is subject to final approval by the Editorial Board and approval by the journal's peer reviewers.
