Is the journal “Parseh Archaeological Studies” a valid scientific journal?
  • Yes.  This journal is one of the most prestigious scientific journals from Iran and holds a scientific status from the Office of the Publications Commission of the Ministry of Science and ISC, Scientific journals are evaluated annually and their scientific ranking is determined according to established rules and regulations.


What kind of article does this journal publish?
  • This journal publishes “research” articles related to archaeology and interdisciplinary sciences in Iran. Its principal objective of this journal is to disseminate scientific research and experiences across various fields of archaeology (various periods: Prehistoric,  Historical, Islamic), Theoretical Foundations of Archaeology, Art History and interdisciplinary studies (including: Bioarchaeology, Archaeobotany, Zooarchaeology, Geoarchaeology, Ethnoarchaeology, Physical Anthropology and Archaeometallurgy) related to Iran in the scope of Iran's cultural geography, which includes: Iran, neighboring countries and neighboring cultures and civilizations.

 

What characteristics should the articles have to meet the requirements of this journal?

  • This publication only accepts original articles that have not been previously published in any other journal. The articles must adhere to the rules and guidelines provided by the journal system.


How long does it take to publish articles?
  • Accepted articles the journal are published in order of receipt, considering the priority of other articles. If there are no duplicate authors, they will be published within one year. The timeframe for publishing depends on the number of articles received.


How to submit articles to this journal?
  • All stages of the article submission process, including receiving, evaluating, revising, accepting, or rejecting, and publishing, are facilitated through the online system of our journal. Furthermore, manual issuance of article acceptance certificates is not possible.


Is it possible for the articles in the journal to be evaluated earlier?
  • No. The journal evaluates all stages of article acceptance according to the criteria listed in the review system of the journal. The defined review period takes 2 to 4 months.


Is there a specific style and framework for writing an article?
  • Yes. The journal adheres to specific guidelines in line with global standards and subject to the COPE regulations. Additionally, it upholds copyright laws and has incorporated a style sheet within the system.


Is it possible to submit more than one article to this journal?
  • No. Each author can only submit one article during the evaluation and publishing phase, with the opportunity to submit another one after publication. For the benefit of doctoral students and due to the limited number of Iranian archaeology journals, only supervisors are permitted to submit two articles (extracted from the doctoral thesis) to the journal in order to expedite the defense of the doctoral thesis.


Does this journal charge for publishing articles?
  • No fees are charged during the initial evaluation of articles. Once an article is accepted by the reviewers, the author will be charged the printing fee amount through the internet.


Do you have to pay to receive articles published in this journal?
  • No, all articles in this journal can be downloaded free of charge. Therefore, by referencing the pages of each of the published issue, readers can obtain their desired articles in PDF format for no cost.


Does the journal have rules about conflicts of interest?
  • Yes.  The journal mandates authors to clearly disclose any “Conflicts of Interest” related to individuals or organizations involved in the publication of their articles. This information must be provided in a separate section titled  “Conflict of Interest”, along with the participation percentage and acknowledgment placed beneath the main article. Additionally, any articles sourced from unpublished reports of archaeological excavations require written consent from the project supervisor.


Does the journal check plagiarism?
  • The journal assesses plagiarism within the Iran Doc system and accepts articles that reference and comply with the criteria, with similarity below 25%. To prevent the consequences of plagiarism, authors must check their article content on the Iran-Doc website before submission, and upload the report certificate along with the article file in the system.


How are articles judged?
  • Articles are assessed by two anonymous reviewers.


Is it possible to act as a reviewer for the journal?
  • Yes. The journal invites experienced individuals and experts to participate in the review process of submitted scientific papers, pending a review of their scientific works and records by the members of the editorial board.

 
Is it possible to obtain a printed edition of the journal?
  • Yes.  Readers of the journal can obtain a physical copy of the published issue by registering and requesting a subscription, or visiting the office of the Research Institute of Cultural Heritage and Tourism (the address is provided in the system).
