Medical tourism is a novel phenomenon and has the least disadvantages and greatest benefits especially for Iran which has great potential in this matter. This study evaluated potential of provinces of I.R.Iran as a capable destination in medical tourism. Morris's Balanced Index method, which is one of the most practical and at the same time simplest methods, and the medical tourism method (MTI) were used to rank different aspects of human development. However, for reasons such as the non-cooperation of some officials and the inclusion of some variables, out of 34 variables, only 11 were evaluated, but the main body of work was not seriously damaged. Results showed that considering the first factor, level of ‘Khuzestan’, ‘East Azarbaijan’ and ‘Ardebil’ were graded from one to three; moreover, considering the second factor we noticed that ‘Kermanshah’, ‘Khouzestan and ‘Mazandaran’ were ranked from one to three. Furthermore, the third factor demonstrated that ‘Ilam’, ‘Qom’ and ‘Gilan’ were leveled from one to three. The fourth factor also showed that ‘Tehran’, ‘Razavi Khorasan ’ and ‘Gilan’ were classified as one to three. According to the results, out of 31 provinces of the country, 10 provinces are prone to medical tourism, were ‘Tehran’, ‘Gilan’, ‘Khuzestan’, ‘Khorasan’, ‘Ilam’, ‘Kermanshah’, ‘Markazi’, ‘Sistan and Baluchestan’, ‘Golestan’ and ‘Qom’ respectively.
