Road Making in the Masileh Basin and Aminolsultan’ Report on it in the Aliabadnameh

“Aliabadnameh” ― a diary on Aliabad ― or “Qom Zahabiyeh Itinerary” is a report from the four days journey of Aminolsutan, Iranian prime minister at the beginning 14th A.H. century/ the last parts 19th A.D century, from Tehran to Qom in 1304 A.H./ 1886 A.D. It includes a collection from historical news and events and contemporary features which Aminolsultan had confronted in his voyage. A part of this important document is concerning to what Aminolsultan saw and met in passage from Aliabad in south of Tehran and in northwestern Hoze Sultan lake or western edge Masileh Basin. Thus, Aminolsultan itinerary in addition to regional geography and local historiography, contains various and basic data for archaeological and cultural ecology research and even the comparing literary survey. After revisiting of Aliabadnameh in this article, we evaluate its several kinds data and argue on which values led to new or complementary understanding from the a little known document for modern investigation.
